Pumpkin Seed Spread

ingredients
For a jar (200 g):
pumpkin seeds (115 g)
hot water (approx. 0,8 dl)
salt
*optional: pumpkin seed oil (1,5 tbsp)

bučna semena (115 g)
vroča voda (cca. 0,8 dl)
sol
*po izbiri: bučno olje (1,5 žlic)
Method
Roast pumpkin seeds with a pinch of salt so that they become a bit brown, crispy and develop a pleasant smell. FINELY mix the seeds (together with salt that was left in the bottom of the pan) in a food processor/blender. Remove the mixture and put it in a bowl. Gradually pour over hot (nearly boiling) water and mix well - until you get the desired consistency. I like mine to be creamy (the spread will thicken a bit after some time).
Add pumpkin seed oil if you wish to. I don’t use it in this recipe anymore, and the spread is still so delicious.
Put the mixture into a clean jar. Store in the refrigerator after it cools down.
After more than a year from when I posted the recipe, I still enjoy it daily.
