Fruit & Nut Buckwheat Porridge

ingredients
For 1 person:
buckwheat groats (1,5 handful)
plant-based milk (approx. 150 ml)
water (approx. 100 ml)
apple
cinnamon
lemon juice (for the taste)
Toppings (optional)
cherries
walnuts
strawberries
maca root powder
vanilla (a splash)

method
Put buckwheat groats, milk and water in a small pot at medium heat. Bring to the boil and cook on a low heat. Cut the apple into smaller, thin pieces and put them into a pot after a few minutes. Season it with cinnamon and other ingredients of your choice. Simmer for another 8 minutes or until the liquid is absorbed. Do not overcook.
When cooked, add a little lemon juice to give them a fuller flavour.
Play around with the toppings of your choice. Usually I top it with fresh berries, some nuts (walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts), a splash of vanilla and a dash of maca powder.
